Procedural Steps- What happens during nose surgery?

1. General Anesthesia (Drugs and/or gases used during the operation to relieve pain and alter consciousness)
2. The Incision
3. Reshaping the nose structure (Occasionally a piece of cartilage from the ear and rarely a section of rib cartilage can be used)
4. Correcting a deviated septum (deviated septum: Cartilage that separates the nostrils is misaligned which may cause partial nasal airway obstruction)
5. Closing the incision (Additional incisions may be placed in the natural creases of the nostrils to alter their size)
6. Splints and internal tubes or packing (may likely be placed inside your nose and on the outside to support and protect the new structures during initial healing)
7. Recovery (plenty of sleep and rest helps with the 2 week recovery period)
8. Long-Lasting results (It may take up to a year for your new nasal contour to fully refine).
