Rhytidectomy, also known as facelift, is a common plastic surgery procedure used to rejuvinate the face by smoothening wrinkles, tightening sagging skin of both the face and the neck.

Everyone has different amounts of facial drooping or sagging which become bothersome over time. Younger patients are usually concerned about the appearance of jowls which frequently is the first sign of facial aging. For these patients, a short-scar facelift or “mini-lift” are ideal and highly effective and rewarding and can be completed in about 2 hours with local anesthesia or general anesthesia. Recovery is rapid. For patients with more severe loosness of the face and neck, a standard face lift works well to smoothen the neck and facial skin. Facelifts are frequently combined with eyelid surgery, browlift, fat transfer.
